Message	You can read all about it in the VR38DETT technical papers where Nissan experimented with different size diameter balance tubes to improve engine torque and spoolup. Granted it's a different engine, but very similar to a VG30DETT On the VR38 a plenum with balance tube had over 500 rpm earlier turbo spoolup when compared to a plenum without balance tube.
